Re: [AMMRL] 400 MHz Avance I data acquisition issue

Hi Dave,

I have a couple other things I might try. When you start seeing the spurious
pulses in the lock, you might disconnect the gradient cable from the probe
just to be sure the GAB isn't doing something weird. And I'd look at the
REF-22 and the CCU (I think that's the brains of the AQS rack). The GCU
error might just be related to the fact that you had to kill a zg.

And I looked through my references and those errors could also be caused by
software issues. What version of TS are you running, and what version of
CCU firmware is currently loaded in the CCU?

Cheers,
Mike

Thanks to everyone who submitted advice. Unfortunately the issue continues
to interrupt acquisition. I was able to pull the aqs out and check the fan
rack. One fan had come loose from the solder joints but all were spinning once
that one was soldered back to the board. Voltage on an unused power outlet
inside the console read 205 V and the battery on the UPS is good so I'm not
sure it's power related. At least not the power coming in.

Checking the temp on the SGU's I have 38 C on one and 40 C on the other. However,
the aberrant signal that I showed earlier started to show up again right away
after powering on the aqs,
when the entire system had cooled and SGU temps were reading 28 for both. I don't
think this is heat related and I don't think it's related to the gradient (although
I do sometimes get GCU and GAB errors) because it started happening right away.
Immediately after running atmm to be specific. At the moment, I can see those same
signals coming through randomly even when the system has been sitting at idle the
entire night. It's like something is firing that shouldn't be but I don't see any
lights lighting up on the console. It's a little hard to take a picture of because
they come and go when idle, but they show up a lot more during acquisition,
although not consistently. Sometimes acquisition finishes just fine.

If the strange signal starts to occur durring acquisition if usually locks
everything up and I have to manually kill the zg. Then I always get the "GCU error:
not enough time for on the fly calculation". I can still collect a regular 1D
proton spectrum and the signal looks pretty good,
this is 1% CDCl3 in 2H-DMSO) and my pulses look fine coming out of the both SGU's,
but I'm kind of at my wit's end for what to do next. Anyone have a spare AV III
HD they're looking to donate? (only half joking)
