Dear Spinlanders,
could you kindly pass this advertisement to any interested candidate?
Best regards,
                         Jan Lang

A post-doctoral position is available in the field of Physics of Molecular
Structures – Design and characterization of novel hybrid nanoporous materials
based on metal-organic frameworks

The project addresses design, synthesis, structural characterization and
detailed investigation of adsorption properties of novel meso- and microporous
hybrid materials based on stable metal-organic frameworks.

The major activities related to the position include advanced spectroscopic
characterization of the newly synthesized materials and a thorough
investigation of rotational and translational mobilities of the system
components – the hybrid nanoporous framework as well as the adsorbed species
such as carbon dioxide. For this purpose there are available two brand new NMR
spectrometers equipped for multinuclear liquid and solid state measurements
under static and magic angle spinning conditions. The spectrometers are also
equipped with a strong pulsed field gradient accessory for the state-of-art
studies of translational diffusion in heterogeneous systems and for
microimaging. Complementary techniques such as differential scanning
calorimetry, gel permeation chromatography, optical spectroscopies etc. will be
also utilized. The project is currently supported by the Czech Science
Foundation.

The project will be supervised by Dr. Jan Lang, associate professor, Dept. of
Low Temperature Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University
in Prague, e-mail: Jan.Lang_at_mff.cuni.cz

Applicants should have a PhD and strong background in physics or physical
chemistry, especially in NMR spectroscopy (including relaxation and/or
diffusion measurements), thermodynamics, and experimental data processing.

The position offers:

1 year contract from October 2016 with a possible renewal in case of mutual
interest
the salary comparable to the starting salary of an Assistant Professor at
the Faculty

Interested candidates should submit:

    CV
brief description of research expertise and plans (1–2 pages)
    list of publications
copy of PhD thesis (or a link for downloading)
    two letters of recommendation

!!! Submissions should be emailed to galikova_at_dekanat.mff.cuni.cz not later
than June 29, 2016. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview.
