Hi All:
I thought this would be a good opportunity to share 2 years worth of
experience and a lot of help from colleagues.

Fuses have blown in the "magnet leg" and the interface card on the input
to the PTS. The AC fuse in the leg is hard to find and is located near the
AC power input. The fuse chip on the interface card does not resemble a
fuse! It is near PTS connector and I think labeled "F".

Our PTS's have "dropped bits" a few times and have been returned to PTS
for repair under their 3 year warranty. The best way to diagnose this is
with "mtune". Any strangeness that is regular is probably a dropped bit. The
mtune display will go to zero for a very short time and this will be at
frequencies that are regular ie 100,110,120 MHz etc.

I too have a new email address: lewcary_at_gmail.com

Cheers, Lew
