Dear Colleagues,
For variable temperature (VT) NMR experiments, N2 is preferred over
air to prevent icing or oxidation. Routine solid-state MAS NMR
requires a gas pressure of about 100psi, which is much higher than
our in-house N2 pressure ~40psi. I am considering a N2 pressure
booster to elevate the low pressure in-house N2 to the desired level
for MAS. Is there anybody out there who has experience in this
regard? What kind boosters (vendor, brand, etc...) have you used?
I know an alternative would be using liquid N2 for VT NMR, but
constantly changing/refilling liquid N2 dewars is a real hassle
because of large consumption of gas in MAS experiments.
cheers,
Jerry
