Dear friends,
Our MSL-300 developed a screen problem recently.
Whithin dismsl, the screen flickers whenever a keyboard
<return> is issued. By flicker, I mean that the screen
becomes green, then blue for a second, some random
text appears on the lower part of the screen and then the
screen shows up in red text and black background.
By simply pressing <return> we get a second flickering
and then the screen colours become normal.
Lock display is not affected during this procedure at all,
with the lock level being displayed in blue as always.
Since the operation of the spectrometer is not affected, I would
not consider this a serious problem. However it is annoying to
have to wait 1-2 seconds between each keyboard <return>.
The Aspect 3000 is already too slow for most of our graduate students !
We swapped the Aspect 3000 I/O board, memory board,
tried a new display processor and a different monitor, without
being able to stop the flickering.
Any suggestions ?
