Ammrlers,
Is it possible to do an ufsdump to a remote tape drive? I found mention of,
and have used sucessfully, "tar" remotely from one system to another system
with a tape drive which incorporates "dd" and "rsh" commands, but no mention
is made in the case of ufsdump. Since ufsdump should be done in the single
user mode, I would assume the above with rsh would not be possible. So then,
how about exporting the filesystem (ie /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0) from the system w/o
the tape drive to, and executing the usfdump command on the system with the
tape drive? Can the remote system be in the single user mode and still be able
to export the file systems?
Please let me know if you've had experience with such; I'll summarize the
repsonses if warranted.
Thanks,
Neal
