Dear AMMRL members,
If it's not too late, I would like to add one more suggestion
regarding LCD monitors compatible with the SGI O2 for use on Bruker
spectrometers, as well as other similar workstations. We recently
purchased an NEC 1525S LCD flat-panel display for our O2 and we have
been very pleased with the results. Unlike the NEC 1810X mentioned in
earlier postings, the 1525S is a 15" diagonal monitor rather than
18" and is consequently much less expensive than the 1810X: ca. US
$1765.95 vs $3185.95. What makes the NEC 1525S unusual is its support
for up to 1280 X 1024 resolution, as is typically used on the O2;
only a very few 15" LCD monitors can do this. Also, the 1525S has
support for dual analog inputs, so you can connect one monitor to two
computers. We have found this to be a useful feature for saving desk
space and for troubleshooting and don't miss those extra 3 diagonal
inches a bit!
