Hi Ken,

I’m not sure how to interpret your third sentence. The ramp feature
limits the rate of temperature change, but you still just have to put in
your final desired temperature and it will ramp it up to that temperature in
a controlled fashion. People tend to use this when they’re heating
things up to well above room temperature to avoid shocking the probe too
much. If your target temperature is 27C then that’s pretty close
to room temperature anyway…

Either way, that should be how you set up the ramp rate. Set the rate you
want in that page and activate the ramp. Then go back to the main page and
set your target temperature. If the heater’s not turning on you might
look at things like gas flow and heater resistance. Depending on the VT
hardware you have, you might be able to check those in the BSMS service
webpage or you might not. Are there any errors in the EDTE main tab?

What version BVT do you have? From a brief look at the manual it appears that
the older BVTs should also be able to correctly interpret a ramp rate and
control the temperature accordingly and the newer BSVT hardware should have
no problem with that either.

Cheers,
Mike

Subject: [AMMRL] Bruker temperature ramp in EDTE

Is anyone familiar with using the temperature ramp feature in EDTE on Bruker
systems? We are specifically running TS3.5.7 in this case. It would appear
that you can set it to increase the temperature in a slow controlled fashion
rather than jumping to specific target temperatures, but it's not working on
our system. I suspect there may be hardware requirements that we don't have -
newer BVT or a chiller.

In this example image we obviously need to set a ramp rate and click activate -
but once that is done it doesn't seem to increase power to the heater.
