Hello,
I am really impressed! I made a somewhat inappropriate question but
nevertheless got the *perfect* solution. Many thanks to Perry Pellechia,
Clemens Anklin, Josh Kurutz, Bert Heise and Ulrich Haunz.
The missing 5 volts had to come from the BSMS ELCB (or SLCB) board. The
SampleXpress has a sensor for this voltage but doesn't produce this voltage
by itself. This was a little bit confusing for me. The reason for the missing
voltage was a RJ45 plug at the backside of the BSMS, which was not attached
correctly. Why? Interesting question, I don't know. But after getting the very
helpful hints, it was a question of 5 minutes to locate this plug.
Unfortunately, there is a second issue, this time apparently related to the
SamplerXpress itself. That's why I wrote "temporary". This issue is related to
the sensors of some of the actuators of the unit (i.e. cassette clamp). There
are always two sensors whose signals must logically match. One of the sensors
must not say "cassette clamp closed" and the other "cassette clamp open".
But before I write the next inappropriate question, I will play a little bit
around. I fear, finally there is a very simple solution.
Many thanks again
Rainer
