AMMRL: safety showers in NMR lab

We are building a new building and the architects have designed a
safety shower in the NMR lab. This seems like a bad idea (water on the
floor if the drain doesn't drain well, difficulties in moving gas
cylinders/cryogens through the area of the drain, which is planned for
very close to the door, etc.).
Do you have experience with a safety shower in an NMR lab? What are
the pros and cons?
Thanks.
Nancy
