Quenches

Dear All,

I have just found that the ceiling of our new NMR room has drainage and water pipes running across it. Can someone tell me; has the temperature in the roof above a quench ever been measured and has anyone had pipework freeze or crack during a quench? I remember seeing liquid air falling like rain from a quench cloud but do not know if this was spray from the magnet vents or the effect of the temperature.

Thanks

Sandy
