cleaning an upper barrel

Hi,
  We've got a spinner problem on our Inova500 and it looks as if I need to clean  the upper barrel.  Our spinner won't turn on for any of the probes we place into the magnet.  We were seeing intermittent spinner probs independent of the sample holder and now the acqi window shows that the spinner is 'off' despite being set at 16 Hz.  I tried setting the spinner through the 'spinner GUI' but to no avail.  We just fixed our temperature cable, but I don't believe the software (6.1.c) bridges the two functions, ie our VT is also set to 'off'.  Can someone point me in the direction of 'how to' directions for removing and cleaning the upper barrel?  Thanks a bunch!
