Biomolecular NMR Laboratory Manager-Vanderbilt University
The Vanderbilt University Center for Structural Biology (CSB) has
an immediate opening for Manager of the Biomolecular NMR
Spectroscopy Laboratory. This is a Ph.D. level position; the rank
and compensation package will be highly competitive and will be
commensurate with experience. The mission of the CSB, which
currently includes 15 full-time faculty members, is to facilitate
trans-institutional training and research involving all aspects of
structural biology at Vanderbilt University. The CSB oversees
major instrumentation facilities in crystallography, NMR, and
computational biology. The Biomolecular NMR Spectroscopy
Laboratory currently includes 800, 600 (2) and 500 (2) MHz NMR
Bruker Avance spectrometers, all of which are multiple channel.
Two are also equipped with cryoprobes, with an 800 MHz cryoprobe on
order. Viable candidates will have substantial previous experience
with experimental aspects of biomolecular NMR spectroscopy,
including the design and optimization of multidimensional pulse
programs, the execution of advanced experiments involving the
utilization of gradients, shaped pulses, etc., data analysis, and
computer systems/software management. The successful candidate
must also possess an ability to work productively in a collegial,
collaborative mode involving close interactions with and/or
training of students and faculty possessing a wide range of NMR
experience-from beginners to experts.
Candidates should send a curriculum vita, including contact
information for three references to:
