NMR Specialist

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Iowa invites
applications for the position of NMR Specialist and Co-director of the
NMR Facility. This individual will assume aspects of technical
operation, management, service, training, and maintenance of six NMR
spectrometers (300-600 MHz). Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in
chemistry or a related science, and have extensive experience in NMR
spectroscopy. Familiarity with NMR hardware and software is essential.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and instructional skills are
expected. The individual must have the ability to function in a service
role, but should also have an interest in professional growth through
technique development and collaborative activities. Other desirable
qualifications include experience as an NMR facility manager, and
familiarity with Bruker instruments, solid state NMR, solution gradient
spectroscopy, and solution spectroscopy of biomolecules. Applicants
