Dear Tom,

your question comes a little bit too early, at least seem from my personal view. 😊
That's exactly the question I am actually trying to solve for friends.
There are three issues

- the operation system
- the licence
- backup

Concerning the backup you might think: there are enough software solutions. Yes, there are. But on the other side a restore to new hardware should be as Trivial as possible.

That's why I am thinking about moving everything into a virtual machine. You might manipulate the MAC of the network interface, which would solve the license issue. Porting a VM is always Trivial.

You encouraged me to start this project today. I don't have a spectrometer in my flat, of course, but the licence files. At least this would enable me to test W10 and TS 1.3 together for data processing.

Kind regards

Rainer

Hello and Happy New Year Everyone-
We have a older Avance instrument that will not run on anything higher than TopSpin 1.3. It appears that we will need to replace the current PC, which is running Windows XP, soon. My question is: can TopSpin 1.3 run on other operating systems? Is anyone out there running it on anything more recent than Windows XP (Windows 7, Windows 10, or any version of Linux)?

Thank you in advance for any advice.
