What a fantastic group we have! I already received suggestions from 16 fellow colleagues. Thank you so much for such speedy responses!
Most people think it is the D-Link ethernet switch, DES-1026, that is not working properly, even though the lights on it are blinking. Indeed, this is the problem I have. I temporarily replaced DES-1026 with a Netgear 16 port switch and got it working. (I was fooled by those tiny blue blinking LEDs on the DES-1026 panel and thought it must be working OK. In fact, those LEDs are misleading. It is the square green LEDs by the ethernet cable connectors that should be lit.) Some suggest the power supplies might be a little low because these interface boards are very sensitive to it. Others suggest swapping the interface boards, which I had done earlier. These boards are mostly identical.

I am listing these 16 colleagues who have sent replies to me so far. Thank you very much again, and hope to see many of you at Asiloma in April !

Subject: AMMRL: Agilent DD2 Console CPU Problem

Dear AMMRLers,

I need some advice from those who have had similar problems with Agilent DD2 consoles. Please see the attached picture of the console CPU Ethernet interface boards. Normally all DSn LEDs are blinking. But, they are all off now. The PSOK light in on, which means the power supply is fine. All 80 MHz clocks are fine as well. The D-Link DES-1026 appears to be working fine. We do not have any hardware document to help investigate the circuitries. Any suggestion will be appreciated.
