Dear colleagues,
several BACS sample changers are in use with our NMR spectrometers at
Heidelberg University for many years and we are still happy with this
system (i.e. we do not want to replace them by newer hardware). From
time to time the vertical cylinder has to be replaced and in the past
we've got replacement cylinders from Bruker for an affordable price.
However, as the BACS sample changer is an old system, maintenance by
Bruker is no longer guaranteed and very expensive now. Therefore we
tried to replace the seals in the vertical cylinder ourselves but had
the problem purchasing the "Copper covered PTFE-rings" ( I am not sure
if these rings are really covered with copper but they look like this,
the dimensions are: 32 mm outer diameter, 1 mm thickness and 3.7 mm
height for the smaller ring and 40 mm outer diameter, 1 mm thickness and
3.7 mm height for the larger ring).
Does anybody know where to purchase the PTFE rings or a whole sealing kit?
