Dear AMMRL, Many thanks to those who responded to my query regarding the demolition and rebuilding of the annex next door to our building right below where we are located (the annex is only two stories high, we are on the third story so climbing out of the window we can walk onto the roof of the annex). I will post a summary of responses soon. The main issues seems to be with vibrations, though disturbances to the magnetic field are also a concern. Any specific advice and recommendations on this latter issue, e.g. any comment on whether there are suitable precautions, e.g. iron shielding (not normally done for NMRs, but can be done for MRIs, e.g. our 7 T MRI is surrounded by 250 tons of iron shielding) or a Faraday cage ? Will include this in the final posting. Regards, K. Klika
