Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopist, Associate Principal Scientist-CHE004621
 Description
 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Specialist

In this role you will be a member of a global NMR structure elucidation team providing support to Merck's discovery and development pipeline. Work performed in the global NMR group includes, but is not limited to, structure elucidation and characterization of compounds being developed by medicinal chemistry, support for process development in process chemistry as well as structure elucidation of metabolites, impurities, degradants and unknowns. The role will also focus on NMR hardware support for the Rahway NMR facility and the selected individual will be the primary contact for service and repair of these instruments. In addition, the candidate should have experience with NMR automation and will be responsible for providing support for high-throughput NMR analyses and automated data analysis. You will interact with world-class scientists in a professional work environment at our state-of-the-art research facilities.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual, who, while capable of working independently, understands and values cross-functional team-work and our common mission to develop new therapeutic solutions to unmet medical needs. You will collaborate with synthetic, purification, computational, and analytical chemists in solving challenging structural problems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in small molecule structure elucidation using instrumentation such as NMR and mass spectrometry.
