I may have similar problem with lock and spectra artifacts (below). We have unity/inova 500MHz (12 years old). A student got this 13C spectra (below) with 2 different solvent peaks in October. I also noticed the lock level crushed (flat line), stay flat for while then bounced back to normal (lock level). It happened 3 times from Oct-Dec 2013. As a novice user, I waited for someone from ammrl to post similar problem and lo and behold, John posting came through. I am monitoring this intermittent interruption during operation. As suggested from John Edwards posting from last week, I have tried the following.
1) Re-optimized the lock phase.
2) The lock channel cables looks good.
3) Lock level stay about the same when I click "lock off"
4) I run the spectrum with lock cable physically connected. The spectrum looks OK.
The spectrometer is operating Okay for now. No crushing lock signal YET. Is that mean my 40MHz Junction Board is "dying"? Any suggestions?
