We have problems with our Varian Mercury MVX-300
. The proton spectrum was poor, peak increased with increasing pw,
even at pw=100. The
carbon spectrum showed noise only. We did console checks, all
measurement points were down to AMT amplifiers, the AMT amplifiers
output, J207 HBD, 8mV; J211 LBD, 0 at tpwr=63.
We thought both amplifiers failed and replaced HBD and LBD amplifiers.
Unfurtunally the problems were still there and same, nothing’s changed.
Any suggestions as to what the problem might be would be appreciated.
