BTW...I should have added the my supervisor is not an NMR person and does
not understand NMR. That fact may be useful, I don't know.

Thanks,
Adrienne

Just a few minutes ago, my supervisor came in and asked me if I had shown
one of the people in our lab how to do Nitrogen and Helium fills. Now, it
is important that I share with you that this person is wanting to learn how
to run the NMR and some simple interpretation and has not expressed an
interest in learning to do any kind of fill. So, I told him that no, I
hadn't shown her how to do it and I felt that the company should get Varian
in to train her if that's what he wanted. I told him that I have developed
my own techniques and if I were to teach her something incorrectly and the
magnet quenched, the company would be 100% liable for the cost. However, if
they had a Varian person in to do the training, they might have something to
argue (I doubt it, but it sounded good).

So anyhow, here is my question to all of you...should I train someone to be
my back-up on fills or should I hang firm and not do it? The last person I
tried showing it to almost quenched the magnet, but he wouldn't listen to
what I was telling him. This person is a lot better at listening and seems
to want to learn. I would also be interested in what you think my liability
would be in training someone else. If the magnet were to quench when that
person was doing the fills, would it be on me?

I could really use some insight here.

Thanks,
Adrienne
