quenches as health risks

We all know that magnet quenches are expensive and can be injurious to
health. Is anyone aware of serious injury or even death resulting from a
quench? The geometry of my lab is such that I believe it would be very
foolish to attempt a helium fill alone, but I may be about to lose my only
trained assistant.

He also is the only one who will do LN2 fills in my absence so, if he goes,
so does ENC for me! (Not to mention vacations, but I haven't had one for
twelve years anyway.)

Best wishes to all for the new year.

Bill
