I am forwarding the following announcement for an NMR Structural Biology
Staff Position at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Please contact
Mark Girvin for further details:

A new staff-level position (Ph.D., non tenure track) is available at
Albert Einstein College of Medicine for a structural biologist with
experience in all stages of protein structure determination by NMR.
This is a school-funded, long term position for a staff scientist to
collaboratively perform NMR structural studies using the NMR resources
on campus and at the New York Structural Biology Center in Manhattan.
The ideal candidate will have solved multiple macromolecular structures
using three-dimensional NMR methods, will have had several years of
postdoctoral experience, and will be enthusiastic about collaborating
with other research groups on interesting biological problems.

The Einstein solution NMR resources
(http://www.bioc.aecom.yu.edu/labs/girvlab/nmr/) include three
spectrometers – a Varian INOVA 600 with a triple resonance cold (cryo)
probe, a Bruker DRX 600 with conventional triple resonance inverse
probes, and a Bruker DRX 300 MHz two channel system with inverse BB,
quad, and 10mm broadband probes. A full-time Ph.D. staff spectroscopist
oversees the instruments, trains and assists users, and participates in
collaborative studies. The lab also provides UNIX and LINUX
workstations, along with all the software needed for data processing,
data analysis, and structure calculation and simulation.

Einstein is a full partner in the New York Structural Biology Center
(http://www.nysbc.org), which became operational in 2002. The NMR
resources at the Center currently include three 800 MHz and two 900 MHz
spectrometers (all with triple resonance cryoprobes), a 750 MHz widebore
spectrometer for solid state experiments, several lower field
instruments, and a dedicated staff. The Center sponsors frequent
seminars, workshops, extended group meetings, and courses in NMR and
cryoEM, making it a focal point for interactions within the New York NMR
community.

Albert Einstein College of Medicine provides an interactive,
collaborative, friendly, and stimulating research environment. The
Biochemistry Department is particularly strong in mechanistic and
structural biochemistry. The school itself is located in a residential
neighborhood of the North Bronx, near the Bronx Zoo, the NY Botanical
Gardens, and Pelham Bay Park, with convenient access to and from
Manhattan and Westchester County.

To apply, please send a CV and arrange to have three letters of
reference mailed to:
