feedback and scientific needs of the user community. Provide requested
information to the Administrative and Oversight Committee and the
Administrative Director of Core Services for the development of the Core's
budget and fee structure. Attend to all cryogen needs and schedule/perform
maintenance for to ensure that NMR instrumentation remains operational
while minimizing downtime. Support internal users (faculty, postdocs,
graduate and undergraduate students) and external users (non-academic and
industrial) with facilities. Develop, implement and enforce operating
safety policies for use of the instruments. (40%) - Perform advanced level
analytical operations. Analyze samples and interpret NMR results for
non-standard samples. Develop problem-solving strategies for experiments
where little to no precedents exist. Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain,
calibrate, and repair general and highly specialized NMR instruments and
computers. Independently evaluate, select and apply techniques, procedures,
and criteria using own judgment in making adaptations. (25%) - Support
instructors (faculty, lecturers, and teaching assistants) in laboratory
courses by running samples for courses. Aid instructors and students with
data interpretation for courses. Establish protocols to train undergraduate
and graduate students and postdocs in operation and theory of NMR
instruments] and experiments. Provide documentation for proper usage.
Instruct undergraduate and graduate students via lectures in NMR related
courses based in the Departments of Chemistry and Macromolecular Science
and Engineering.. (25%) - Write software for the operation and use of NMR
instruments and for data interpretation. Collaborate with faculty in
proposal writing efforts to acquire new equipment and instruments that
support the NMR core. Keep up to date on advances in general field of NMR
spectroscopy so as to best be in position to educate users of key
