AMMRL,

I am inquiring if anyone has success in creating new user accounts in Agilent's
vnmrj software with a process other than by using 'vnmrj admin' GUI as vnmr1.
In particular, if you have successfully integrated IT/Infrastructure automation
software or corporate directory services such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Kerberos,
LDAP, or Active Directory, I'd love to hear how it was done.

Our IT installed puppet (https:/puppet.com) on my 4.7T computer which has vnmrj 4.2
and Centos 6.10 pairing with VNMRS console. After puppet install, existing user
accounts work fine (other than these accounts needed to be unlocked first); but
I am no longer be able to create new user account using 'vnmrj admin' GUI with
error messages saying can't save files (and /var/log/secure shows vnmr1 was changed
to a 'global' vnmr1_at_ad.ufl.edu<mailto:vnmr1_at_ad.ufl.edu> account). New account
created by IT doesn't work either due to all the home directory files and folders
needed for vnmrj were not created, or file updates inside vnmrj, or postgres sql
database updates.

Best regards,
