It sounds like the UK lab is using Bruker's "Getfile" program totransfer
data off the old-style Bruker Aspect computers to a PC. It not only
transfers the files, but also does a file translation into the format used
by Bruker's old Win-NMR PC data processing software. The original Aspect
format is a single file containing both data and parameters. But Getfile
creates multiple files from that one file. All files derived from one
original data file will have the same file name, but with different file
extensions.
There are multiple variations of the Win-NMR format, but in all cases, the
.fid (1D) or .ser (2D) file contains the data points for FIDs. Files with
extensions .1r and .1i are 1D frequency-domain data, real and imaginary
parts, respectively. The other associated files contain parameters. The
latter may have file extensions of .fqs, .aqs, .dis or .par, which may or
may not be ascii. The parameter files are necessary, but not independent
of the actual data files.

Dear all,
Malaysian Rubber Board has two labs one in Malaysia and another one in UK.
Both has Bruker NMR spectrometers. The one in UK is using Aspect 3000
(Bruker AC) with WIN-NMR Version 4.0 and the one in Malaysia is using Bruker
AMX with WIN-NMR version 6.0. We have been receiving NMR data from them with
*.fid, *.fqs and *.aqs. Seem that our WIN-NMR can only read *.1r and *1i
which are two formats transferred from our AMX to the PC. The lab in UK told
me that they cannot get the transferred files to be in the format of *.1i
and *.1r. Is there a way to either get the format straight to *.1i and *.1r
or convert the *.fgs and *.aqs to *.1i and *.1r? For your information, we
can read their *.fid.
Thanks.
