Hi all:
We are having a problem with our Bruker AMX 400 that I hope someone out in
NMR land can give us a hand with.
Our spectra contain multiple sideband peaks (not spinning sidebands). These
appear around the spectral peaks with approximately 120 Hz separations.
They are very prominent in high concentration samples, but they can still
be seen at low concentration if the spectra are blown-up. These peaks
appear independent of the nucleus being observed but are much more
prominent in 1H spectra.
We have tried replacing the pre-amplifiers, Ecoupler, PTS, SE-451, and ADC
to no avail. We did find some bad capacitors in the main power supply but
fixing this problem did not remove the sidebands. We have replace a number
of bad fans and reseated all of the boards which also did not change things.
Bruker has suggested that there might be some kind of bad ground problem.
Trying to track down something like that is like finding a needle in a
haystack.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Les
