DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH INSTRUMENTATION FACILITY,
DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY, UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN.

The ideal candidate would have an advanced degree (MS required, PhD
preferred) or equivalent background in Chemistry, Biochemistry or
Biophysics, a significant background in modern multidimensional and
heteronuclear NMR methods, and excellent written and oral communication
skills. Depending upon experience and interest, the position may be filled
as a full-time staff position or as a full-time non-tenure track research
faculty position.

Responsibilities include support of research and teaching associated with
departmental instrumentation. The department research instrumentation
facility currently includes three high-field NMR spectrometers (600 MHz
solids/liquids, 500 MHz with cryoprobe and automated sample handling, and
400 MHz with LC/NMR capability) as well as GC/MS, FT-IR, and UV-vis and
fluorescence spectrometers. The Director will manage the facility, supervise
the assistant director and a graduate assistant, train and assist users with
the design and implementation of experiments, communicate and introduce new
spectroscopic techniques, conduct routine maintenance, coordinate
instrumentation proposals, and arrange for acquisition of spectra for other
campus units as well as local industry.

The position is supported with an Assistant Director, one or more Graduate
Assistants, and departmental instrument, electronics and glass shops. To
