NMR ENTHUSIASTS
Last year we asked this group about restarting Dr. Barry Shapiro's NMR
Newsletter. We received very positive responses, and eventually a flyer was
distributed announcing the revival of the NMR Newsletter. But due to the
Pfizer-Pharmacia merger activities in 2003, it was necessary to put this
project on hold. However the merger activities for the most part have
finished. We would like to announce an official call for contributions to
the "new" NMR Newsletter. As previously stated, the intent remains much as
it was when Dr. Shapiro first started the Newsletter more than forty years
ago: to provide a means for rapid, informal communications and private
letters from the Laboratories of NMR.
Contributions should be prepared using standard word processing or
presentation software and should be no more than two pages in length. There
will be no ads in the revised Newsletter, however, as part of their
technical contribution, vendors may advertise their product if it is
relevant to their contribution. Technical contributions will not be
reviewed for scientific merit but should be relevant to the field of NMR,
just as before. Please use your institutional letterhead for your
contributions, and address it to "Dear NMR Newsletter". Until the NMR
Newsletter web site (<
http://NMR-Newsletter.colostate.edu>) is operational,
please send your contributions to: brian.tobias_at_pfizer.com
If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter, but do not plan on
contributing at this time, please send your email with their personal
contact information to NMR-Newsletter_at_colostate.edu
<mailto:NMR-Newsletter_at_colostate.edu>.
We would also like to thank Richard Shoemaker and the AMMRL executive
committee for allowing us to use the AMMRL distribution list until the NMR
Newsletter distribution has been rolled out.
We are anticipating (or at least hoping) the first issue of the NMR
Newsletter to be distributed around April 2004.
Sincerely,
Brian Tobias

The NMR Newsletter is a (monthly) collection of informal private letters
from laboratories of NMR. Information contained herein is solely for the
use of the reader. Quotation is *NOT* permitted, except by direct
arrangement with the author of the letter, and the material subsequently
quoted *MUST* be referred to as a "Private Communication" between you and
the author. It is strictly forbidden to make reference to the NMR
Newsletter by name in the open literature.
These restrictions apply equally to both the actual Newsletter
participant-recipients and to all others who are allowed open access to the
Newsletter issues. Strict adherence to this policy is considered essential
to the successful continuation of the Newsletter as an informal medium of
exchange of NMR information.
