Greetings,
For some time we have had small 57 Hz satellites in our Inova 500
spectra. They are of the order of 1% and are somehow connected
with spinning -- they go away when the spinning is turned off.
There does not, however seem to be any relationship with the spin
rate, since the satellites are at 57 Hz regardless of the spinning
speed. Unplugging the sensor has no effect.
I should perhaps mention that our spinning is no longer controlled,
presumably because of failure of the valve that adjusts the spinner
air flow (we adjust the pressure to get the spin rate in an acceptable
range). The sidebands were there before the valve failure, though.
Any ideas?
Also, does anyone know a source for the little electrically-controlled
valves that adjust the spin rate? I assume that they would be 2-5X
as expensive if we buy them from Varian, and I have other machines
where they have failed.
Steve
