Position Summary:
Leading a small, focused technical group and coordinating closely with a 
remote, larger R&D team, this position will oversee innovation and new 
product development initiatives for our NMR product line.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
     Provide local site leadership for the NMR R&D Group.
     Work closely with product marketing and business leadership to 
establish clear goals and priorities for the NMR product line.
     Propose clearly defined and scoped technology and product 
development projects designed to achieve established goals.
     Collaborate in the detailed planning for proposed projects, 
including the preparation of engineering inputs, cost estimates, 
schedules, etc.
     Lead the development of new NMR products and technologies through 
both supervision and hands-on participation.
     Work closely with the Molecular R&D leadership to integrate and 
coordinate NMR R&D activities with extended cross functional teams.
     Participate in problem solving and methods development for 
manufacturing and service.
     Present business leadership with regular updates on the NMR R&D effort.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
     Ph.D in Physics, Electrical Engineering or Chemistry.
     Track record of success in concept, development, design, launch and 
support of modern laboratory instrument systems.
     Proven ability to lead a multidisciplinary science and engineering 
team to solve technical problems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions
     Expert level knowledge of NMR spectroscopy instrumentation.
     Knowledge of NMR spectroscopy market and customer use cases.
     Understanding of modern analog and digital electronic systems, 
including RF electronics as applied to NMR spectrometers.
     Knowledge of NMR magnet technology and shim systems.
     Knowledge of modern software systems as applied to NMR spectroscopy.
     Broad knowledge of molecular spectroscopy instrumentation preferred
