Is this a great list or what? A bunch of help came rolling in and we
are on our way. Lead nitrate seems to be the sample of choice for a
first look.

Jerry also reminded me that we are working in the FM broadcast band
and sure enough--my spurious peak is WWLS. Modern spectrometers and
filters have made us (at least me) complacent about external RF
sources but nearby 100 MW transmitters have to be dealt with (though
not necessarily listened to.)
