Dear AMMRL,
we are thinking of collecting helium boil-off from our four magnets located
in two distinct rooms. I would be grateful for the experience how to bring
helium gas to a small (500l) collection bag which will be located 40m away
from magnets. Boil-off rate is rather small and so is the helium gas flow
(about 30 liters of gas per hour, if I estimate correctly). Are the steel
pipes necessary? Can we use some other material like PE or PTFE tubes? And
does the diameter of pipes play a role for such small flows?
