Jessica,
our university IT department offers a remote Windows Share drive. We
have a NMR share that is used to save NMR data using the archiving
functionality in Topspin and ICONNMR that creates a copy of the data at
the end of acquisition. On our Linux spectrometers the drive is mounted
using pam_mount upon login using the SMB protocol upon login using their
login credentials. On University Windows computers the drive shows up
as a separate drive letter for people to access their data.
In addition I allow data download directly from the spectrometer through
a website using a custom php script.
I played around with mounting OneDrive from Linux using rclone, but at
least from a Linux computer I have not found an as straightforward way
for users to automatically mount their OneDrive, it requires individual
setup for each user it looks. That will be different if your spectrometer
runs Windows.
