This question is directed at those who have navigated the schematic-free zone inside the VNMRS console.
I don't have one, but I am interested in doing some 2H decoupling on one, specifically, simultaneous 1H and 2H decoupling of 13C. I have this working on my 4 channel Inova 600 console, where the magnet leg has a clearly labelled BNC connector that says "2H DECPL," and if you connect either a dedicated 2H decoupler amplifier output to it, or the third channel which is commonly used for 15N, you are good to go. It is helpful that this connector is external to the console and easy to reach, and that the Inova console came with schematics. Inovas came with the 2H decoupling relays whether you bought a 2H decoupler or not; if not, there's nothing connected to the 2H DECPL port. What I lack is a 600 broadband probe to do the experiment efficiently.
Peering into a 400 MR console I have, without benefit of schematics, it looks like the switching between 2H lock and 2H gradient shimming is handled much the same way as it is on the Inova, except the relays are inside the console, and they have SMA instead of BNC connectors. This is a 2 channel console not suitable for triple resonance.
My question is: is there an unused 2H DECPL connector somewhere inside a VNMRS console that wasn't purchased with a 2H decoupler, to which the output of the third channel could be connected to do 2H decoupling?
