AMMRL: TopSpin1.3/XwinNMR3.6 on 32 bit CentOS 5

Hi all,

I currently have a DRX500 with a TCI cryoprobe controlled via XwinNMR
3.5 running on an SGI O2. It works very well, I have no problems with it
and I like it.

I recently bought, via Ebay, an ATM unit for the cryoprobe. The problem
I now have is that the ATMA control software in the SGI version of
XwinNMR 3.5 is not compatible with this cryoprobe/ATM combination.

I have set up a temporary computer running CentOS 4.4 with both XwinNMR
3.6 and TopSpin 1.3 installed and have verified that the ATM unit will
now work.

The problem is that I cannot compile au programs in XwinNMR on that
system, and probably can't in TopSpin 1.3. I have done less testing in
TopSpin 1.3 as I need the spectrometer connection to run it. I have
floating licenses for XwinNMR.

The computer I would like to use for this system is currently running
CentOS 5.11 32 bit and has a TopSpin 1.3 license as it originally came
with a spectrometer.

Ideally, I'd like to get both XwinNMR 3.6 and TopSpin 1.3 usable on this
system so that I can decide later which one to use.

There is information from Bruker about installing TopSpin 1.3 on CentOS
5, but it is for 64 bit systems.

Has anyone any advice for getting this going on a 32 bit computer? Or
should I just buy a 64-bit capable computer?

Thanks!

Phil.
