A number of people have emailed me with questions about our available VnmrS 700 system and several people have asked the same question. I thought that it would be easier for me to post information about the magnet that would answer these questions and also provide additional information that might be of interest to anyone considering the details of moving and installing such a magnet.
The magnet is a Magnex 700/54 Premium Shielded magnet. It's 5 gauss line is 1.5m radially and 2.3m axially.
It has a recommended minimum ceiling height of 3504mm (11.5ft). The mass of the magnet with legs and filled with cryogens is 2000 kilograms.
Cryogens required for installation are 1600 liters of nitrogen and 1600 liters of helium.
The magnet has not been crated as DuPont is expecting the institute or company taking the system to cover that cost.
The magnet manual shows a 2480mm high by 1130mm square shipping crate for the magnet without the legs.
