NMR colleagues,
Due to the changes taking place at DuPont we have a 9 year old VNMRS 700 MHz spectrometer available to anyone who is willing to remove it from our site and pay some small amount of money in order to absolve DuPont of any liability. I have been the custodian of this system for the last several years and it is still in very good condition. It was with great lament that I had the magnet de-energized by Agilent at the beginning of April. The system has four observe channels and a fifth channel that was used for decoupling only. It comes with 7 working probes: 10mm_BB, 10mm_C13, 5mm_id{X}, 5mm_H{C,N}, and three low fluorine background probes: 10mm_H,F , 5mm_H,F{C} and 5mm_C,P{H,F}.
The way that the finance people at DuPont have set up the process for obtaining this instrument requires that you bid some amount of money. They have not explained to us how long they will take bids before they give it to the highest bidder. Nor have they told us if they have a minimum bid limit. My manager and I have tried to impress upon them how expensive it is to move this system and the risk that someone will be taking. I don't like this process but it is out of my control.
