Hi Spinlanders ,
I am posting a job for a friend:
NMR Spectroscopist at Solenis
Solenis (formerly Ashland Water Technologies) is a global solutions provider of specialty chemicals and materials with annual sales of ~$1.8 billion. Solenis serves a large number of markets including functional paper chemical additives, water treatment chemicals, and process chemicals.
The Analytical Division of Solenis has an immediate opening for an NMR spectroscopist. The spectroscopist must be well versed in all aspects of NMR theory and practice. This individual will be a member of the R&D team at our Research Center in Wilmington, Delaware.
The successful candidate should be able to apply advanced NMR spectroscopy techniques in support of the structural characterization of large and small molecules. This position requires the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. As a member of the Analytical Division, the candidate will collaborate on a diverse set of challenging technical problems. We are seeking a team player with excellent communication skills.
Requirements:
The qualified candidate should posses an advanced degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or equivalent practical experience with specialization in NMR spectroscopy. Doctoral and postdoctoral research experience should be in NMR spectroscopy.
Skills in data analysis and pattern recognition should be ideally balanced with advanced proficiency in NMR instrumentation, software, and pulse sequences.
Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of NMR instrumentation is highly desirable.
Good breadth in general, organic, and polymer chemistry principles and practices is necessary. Experience in the paper and water treatment industry is a plus. Knowledge of other analytical characterization techniques including FT-IR, Mass spectrometry, GPC/SEC and thermal analysis is also desirable.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Permanent residency status in the U.S. is required.
As with all Solenis employment practices, this process will comply with all applicable equal employment laws. No candidate will be discriminated against on the basis of race, sex, national origin, color, religion, veteran status, disability, or any other protected class.
