Hi Brian,

>(1) Is the NMR lab left unlocked during any part of the day?

No

>(2) What kind of locks do you have?

We have an electronic combination lock.

>(3) Is there someone present, especially if the lab is not locked?

Yes - me - most of the time

>(4) How do users get keys; does each user have a key, is it shared
>like our system, etc.

No keys

>(5) Where are you located or what is the crime rate for your area?

My office is next to the lab, and there is a large window between the lab
and my office.
Crime rate has been low, but security is very lax, ie. outside doors
propped open on weekends so people don't need their magnetic cards..

>(6) Are there any other security concerns you have in addition to the
>ones I mentioned?

Since there are no computer labs near by, and our building is at the edge
of campus and adjacent to the freeway, I am more concerned about the theft
of the Dell computers, HP printers, etc.

LeRoy
