Dear AMMRL,
An increasing number of clients have been asking us to do NMR analysis of
polymer blends to find out percent composition for tariff purposes. So
far, we have done polymer analysis of polypropylene using a method from a
polymer manufacturer to obtain the ethylene/polypropylene content. It
works fine (I think), but just to give the analysis a sounder basis, does
anyone know of a standard or published method for that and similar
polymers?
We have a 400 MHz JEOL with a 10 mm H-X probe. The analyses are usually
done at elevated temperatures using benzene/orthodichlorobenzene as
solvent.
