Varian VXR question

Hi folks. This one's for the seasoned Varian owners:

I've got a problem with my VXR-300 upgraded to HAL/Sun and wonder what your
thoughts are.

VNMR 6.1B says status is "Acquiring" when it's supposed to be "Idle." After
some acq cage reboots and maybe some Sun reboots, it works again for a few
days. You can't make "Acquiring" go away by trying to abort an acquisition.
You can't go to "Interactive" mode, either.

I've done so many "fixes" in such random order that I can't tell you
logically what works. I have rerun VNMR, stopped and restarted acqproc,
rebooted acquisition cage, rebooted Sun, power off/on diff box.

What's your vote for likely culprit?
        Acquisition Control Board?
        HAL?
Diff box? (if so, probably +5V supply?)
        VMO2?
        Other?

Bill
