As we discussed at the AMMRL meeting last week, we are migrating the AMMRL
email listserv to groups.io We plan to start adding current members of the
listserv to ammrl_at_groups.io today. This process may take a few days to
complete, so we ask that everyone please be patient.

*We recommend that you check your spam filters and/or
add main_at_ammrl.groups.io <main_at_ammrl.groups.io> and ammrl_at_groups.io
<ammrl_at_groups.io> to your safe sender list* to avoid missing any posts from
the new listserv. Once everyone is added to the groups.io listserv, we'll
send out a final message to the current mailing list to remind everyone to
begin posting exclusively on the new main_at_ammrl.groups.io listserv.

You will receive a 'Welcome' message from groups.io once your email has
been added. Please read it carefully. At that time, please send all
further AMMRL communications to ammrl_at_groups.io

A few notes about groups.io

   - You can continue to use the groups.io version of the AMMRL listserv
entirely via email. You will receive emails like normal and you can post
new messages and/or reply to messages using the listserv email address: main_at_ammrl.groups.io
   - A new option with groups.io is the ability to read and post to the
listserv using the website (https://groups.io/g/ammrl) or smartphone app
(search for Groups.io and then log in). Note: to use the website or the
app, you will need to create a groups.io account.
   - We encourage all members of the listserv to fill out their profile
with their name and institution. We are simply adding your email address
to our group, you will need to supply the rest of your info.
   - The website (or app) has several tools that we hope will be useful for
our community. For example, there is a tool to create polls; we can host
files (e.g., old instrument manuals and troubleshooting documents); we can
create Wiki pages for certain common/important topics; etc.
   - If you want to avoid seeing every individual email from discussion in
the listserv, you can log in to the website (or use the app) and set your
subscription mode to a digest mode (https://groups.io/g/ammrl/editsub).
For example, you can choose to receive all messages in individual emails,
collections of messages in a digest, a daily summary, or only special
   notices.

*Reminders about AMMRL listserv policies and a few changes*

   - Posts are sent to the members of the listserv "as is"; no editing is
   done by the moderators.
   - New posts are moderated to ensure they are appropriate for AMMRL and
   include appropriate hashtags.
   - We recommend adding appropriate hashtags to help people mute topics
they are not interested in and to help those searching for topics of
   interest in older posts.
   - Note: replies to a post will now go to the entire list, not just the
sender. In light of this, please be considerate and ensure that replies to
a post contain meaningful and useful content for the entire group.
   - We do not allow messages that might be construed as commercial
advertising. Any messages of this type will be rejected by the moderators.
Replies to current topics that look like commercial advertising will be
   deleted by the moderators.
   - Although the replies to posts will now be visible to the entire group,
we still encourage the original poster of a question to post a summary
describing a resolution to their problem or the most relevant/helpful
   information that was shared.

You can visit the groups.io help center <https://groups.io/helpcenter> for
more information about how to use the Groups.io website.
