For some time now we've been examining Iron functional materials (solutions) by NMR. Mostly we've had reasonable success at measuring 1H/13C/29Si of these. However this morning we had a sample get stuck in the magnet bore on our open access instrument. Fortunately, the magnetic interaction was weak enough that I was able to pull the sample out by lifting out the upper barrel. No harm was done.

Do any of you have a screening test to evaluate for ferromagnetic materials in a solution. Seems we've successfully tested so many of these types of materials, I'd like to be able to continue testing them if I can improve my confidence that they are safe for the instrument.
