I'm so glad to see these user competency discussions. For a while now I
thought I might be the only one left that is not using automated mode.
I have cut down the training to bare minimum but it still takes about
1.5 hours to teach each new user that doesn't have nmr background at
all. They still have to practice during day-time for several hours
(free of charge) until they can run routine 1H/13C without trouble. I
think this is an investment for our future scientists no matter if they
are going into industry or not.
