Hi everybody,

We are in the process of purchasing a narrow-bore Bruker 800MHz
spectrometer (for high-res). We would like to specify that when the
instrument is shimmed so that it meets all other specs, the total wattage
in the shim coils doesn't exceed a certain amount. The shim set is the
standard Bruker BOSS-2 with 28 shims.

Does anyone know:

a) Is this a good thing to specify?

b) What should this maximum wattage be? We think 5 watts would be a good
number, but we're not sure why we think that.

Thanks very much!
