I would like to announce an opening for a post doctoral fellow at
the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Springs, Maryland. The
project involves NMR and molecular modeling investigations of
enzyme-inhibitor complexes. In addition to the more traditional
multi-dimensional methods for structure determination we will be employing
PFG methods to screen potential ligands for enzyme binding as well as for
the determination of the thermodynamic parameters of the binding process.
Position Requirements are listed below.
Postdoctoral Position:
We are looking for a candidate having a Ph.D. in physical organic or
bio-organic chemistry or a related field with some experience in the
application of computational protein chemistry, structure-based drug design,
protein modeling, and NMR spectroscopy. The candidate should be able to
tackle the state-of-the-art methodologies necessary for protein modeling and
structure-based drug design studies. Familiarity with UNIX and major
software modeling packages such as Insight II modules, and X-PLOR is
desirable.
