Hello,

I wonder if any of you might have a defunct or
otherwise unused Bruker 400 MHz Narrow
Bore (NB) gradient probe.

My problem is that I have such a probe in pretty
good working order :-) It is a 5mm BBI gradient
probe and we use it frequently for routine
spectroscopy. However its gradient coil is
faulty - an imaging experiment shows that part
of it is functionally "missing". This does not
prevent it working just fine as mentioned
above,

Buttttttttttttttttt

the fault makes it useless for diffusion
experiments since this amounts to rather
drastic gradient non linearity. Certainly I can
use the MRI style slicing technique to work only
in the "good" region,at a severe S/N penalty,
but I would much rather have a fully functional
gradient coil.

If you have such a probe available for
"transplant surgery" please let me know.I
believe that as long as it is for a 400 NB probe
the gradient coil should be the same as mine.
However, if you believe you can help I will
check that your gradient coil is compatible with
my 'patient' before we proceed. If necessary I
can give you step by step instructions (with
photos) for opening the probe and removing
the gradient coil.

If you would like to exchange your gradient coil
for ... money ... please let me know how much.
I have queried the price of a new coil with
Bruker and it motivated me to write this mail :-
)).

BTW I have a selection of 400 MHz NB 5mm
probes (without gradients) which I no longer
use. They remain from our old AMX 400 which
was upgraded to Avance in 2000.

Sincerely,
Andy||---------------------------------------------
