Job Duties:
Installs and services the most complex and advanced products and equipment with minimum
technical assistance and without direct supervision. Maintain detailed records of service visits,
including technical problems encountered and parts employed to correct those problems.
Handle service related customer relation problems and maintain customer confidence through
technical expertise. Reports safety problems and other repetitive and costly repair problems to a
supervisor. Sell service contracts to customers and assist in contract proposal and quote
preparation under the direction of the supervisor. Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art
products of Varian NMRI. May be assigned to other geographical areas to assist in emergency
situations. The successful candidate will provide service from a home office primarily in the
assigned area of responsibility. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Typically requires two years of electronic related college education plus six (6) years of related
experience, or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
Thorough understanding of electronic circuitry including current state-of-the-art devices as well
as being able to effectively troubleshoot the most complex products and equipment.
Working knowledge of appropriate theoretical principles and processes encountered in the field
of NMR or other scientific instrumentation.
